With Bonfire Night just around the corner, we thought we’d offer our guests a little guide to some of the biggest and brightest firework displays around Shropshire. With, of course, plenty of roaring bonfires to huddle around as we welcome the cosy winter months.
There’s something rather magical about November in Shropshire. The evenings draw in, the countryside takes on its beautiful autumn colours, and the crisp night air makes the warmth of a crackling fire feel even more inviting. Add a spectacular display of fireworks lighting up the night sky, and you have the perfect excuse for a countryside escape to Marrington.
Shrewsbury Town Fireworks & Food
Taking place at Croud Meadow on Thursday 5th November, Shrewsbury Town Fireworks & Food has plenty to keep you entertained throughout a chilly autumn evening. Alongside the 8pm fireworks and laser show, there’ll be live DJs, fire breathers and dancers, with plenty of street food and mulled wine to go around.

West Mid Showground Spectacular
For a more traditional Bonfire Night, head to the West Mid Showground on Saturday 7th November. With a roaring bonfire, two firework displays and plenty of food and drink, it’s a lovely way to spend a crisp autumn evening. The first display starts at 6.15pm, followed by the main display at 7.45pm.

Alderford Lake
If a countryside setting is more your thing, Alderford Lake is another great choice on Saturday 7th November. Enjoy the bonfire, live music, fairground rides as well as a few bonfire bites before settling in to watch the fireworks light up the night sky. There’s also a quieter display at 7pm, followed by the main show at 8pm.
