Imagine yourself driving through the ancient stone pillars at the entrance of the Marrington Estate and taking a break at the original gate house lodge. Situated just off the road to nearby Chirbury village with its 12th century church, post office shop and bakery, The Lodge is a cosy and welcoming space for six, offering comfort, style and expansive views across the estate.

The house is the latest addition to our collection and offers a fully fitted kitchen from where you can watch sheep grazing in the neighbouring fields, before gathering around the oak table in the separate dining room. The elegantly decorated lounge has a log burner and French windows leading out to the large lawned garden to the rear. Downstairs, there’s also a shower room and separate utility with laundry facilities and there’s also a games room for some after dinner entertainment.

The staircase leads to a cosy seating area to relax, read or enjoy views across the Shropshire landscape. Surrounding the family bathroom, there are three well-appointed and good-sized bedrooms. One features a king-size bed, one a double and the third a zip and link, making a super-king or twin beds.

Outside you will find a large and secure private garden, perfect for you and any furry friends to enjoy. There is a hot tub with a view, along with a firepit for some outdoor feasting. There is ample parking for three cars to the front of the property.

Ever tried wine-tasting? If not then this is your moment as Kerry Vale Vineyard is a great place to visit in nearby Pentreheyling. This award-winning family-run vineyard, owned by husband-and-wife team Russell and Jan Cooke, was planted in 2010. It is home to 6,000 vines, with four varieties – Rondo, Pinot Noir, Phoenix & Solaris, all ideally suited to our English climate. Visit, tour, taste and buy – there’s always an event to tempt you.

We were fortunate to be the very first people staying in the property and it was immaculate! The furnishings are beautiful and the location is gorgeous. We walked all the routes and even though some were very tricky and muddy we thoroughly enjoyed them and so did our dogs! The kids loved the hot tub and the football table - we will be going back!

This is a beautiful home. My friends and I have been staying in large houses over winter for over ten years and we all agreed this has been by far the best. Freshly decorated with high-quality bathrooms, kitchens, clean carpet etc. The kitchen had everything we needed and more to cook a full roast dinner… The hot tub was amazing with lovely views… the surrounding area is so peaceful. The house is so secluded with beautiful trees and a river flowing nearby… Lovely for a walk in the morning to get some fresh air. Thanks so much for a fantastic stay!
