Having had the thrill of being selected as Finalists in the 2024 West Midlands Tourism Awards, members of our Marrington Escapes team were excited to attend the celebrations at the recent event held at The Bear Grylls Adventure venue in Solihull where they met other finalists from the region’s visitor attractions and venues.
Whilst we didn’t clinch the top spot in our category: New Tourism Business, (which went to West Midlands Police Museum), the team were thrilled and proud to have been awarded Silver at this prestigious event and passed their congratulations onto the winners and all the other incredible businesses involved. And, more great news is that as silver award winners, Marrington Escapes automatically quality for the Visit England Awards for Excellence this coming June, where we have a chance of recognition as national champions.
Half the fun of an evening like this is to mix with likeminded businesses and people who care passionately about offering wonderful experiences to holiday makers. Philippa our property manager, along with Claire from the marketing team, Sarah-Jane from Housekeeping and Jason from Maintenance soaked up the atmosphere and met many counterparts from the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Andrew Lovett, chair of the West Midlands Tourism and Hospitality Advisory Board, said “This year’s West Midlands Tourism Awards gave us the opportunity to come together to applaud the talent, business acumen and hard work of our tourism sector.
“With an evening of celebration and entertainment, we paid tribute to the visitor attractions, events, accommodation, and hospitality venues, which have helped the region to secure record visitors, create jobs and grow the tourism economy. Congratulations to the winners and runners-up in each category, all of whom can be extremely proud.”
